Attribution: Entry text and handle data from Verified Handles (verifiedhandles.org), by JEMEDIA, are CC0 1.0. Where a description is adapted from Wikipedia it is CC BY-SA 4.0: credit the linked Wikipedia article and its licence, and share alike. Images are licensed separately by their owners. Not affiliated with or endorsed by JEMEDIA.

Licence: Verified Handles publishes entry text under CC0 1.0 and says so in three places. The API description states: "Entry text is CC0, except a description taken from Wikipedia, which is CC BY-SA 4.0 (`description_license`): where you show it, show the article (`description_source.url`), the licence by name with a link ([CC BY-SA 4.0](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/)), and “adapted from” when `description_source.adapted` is true, and share alike. Images are licensed by their owners, and each says how (`image_rights`)." Its OpenAPI licence block reads: "CC0 1.0 (entry text, except a description taken from Wikipedia, which is CC BY-SA 4.0; images are licensed separately)", identifier CC0-1.0. The Terms of Service add: "Content on Verified Handles entries is published under the CC0 1.0 Public Domain license. This does not include images or Wikipedia excerpts, which are licensed separately — click through to see each one's license and contributors." The site footer repeats: "(CC0 1.0) Public Domain, except text from Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0) · JEMEDIA". The CC0 grant therefore covers the entry text and the structured handle data; it does not cover images, and Wikipedia-derived descriptions remain CC BY-SA 4.0 with attribution and share-alike.
