Attribution: Metadata from the Socrata Discovery API (Tyler Technologies, Data & Insights). Each record remains subject to the licence and terms of use of the portal that publishes it.
Licence: No blanket licence covers this catalogue. The Discovery API federates metadata from thousands of independently operated Socrata / Tyler Data & Insights portals and the terms are per-record: every result carries its own "metadata": {"license": ...} string set by the publishing agency. Values seen in live responses (2026-10-22) include "See Terms of Use" (e.g. data.cityofchicago.org/ijzp-q8t2), "Public Domain" and null; they are not interchangeable and none of them governs the catalogue as a whole. The only written reuse statement the operator publishes is the footer of its developer documentation site, and it is non-commercial: dev.socrata.com reads verbatim "Licensed by Tyler Technologies under CC BY-NC-SA 3.0.", with rel="license" pointing at http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/deed.en_US. That covers the documentation site, not the data, and nothing on dev.socrata.com or tylertech.com grants commercial reuse or redistribution of catalogue metadata. commercialUse and redistribution are therefore both false: we pass the metadata through claiming nothing, and each record's own license field plus the linked portal's terms of use are what actually govern reuse of the asset behind it.
Ask with this source
A prompt for your agent that names this source and how to call it through the crw MCP.
Asset metadata by ID
Use Socrata Discovery API (socrata) from fastCRW Pergamon, capability "Asset metadata by ID" (asset-metadata). You already hold a Socrata four-by-four ID and want that asset's schema and metadata rather than its rows. Example options: ids=ijzp-q8t2, limit=20, offset=0. Use the crw MCP tools: crw_find_data to confirm the source and its options, then crw_get_data with provider "socrata" and capability "asset-metadata". Tell me the credits used and cite the licence from the response. If the crw MCP tools are missing, install them with: npx -y crw-mcp install --api-key <your fastCRW API key>
Assets with an exact title
Use Socrata Discovery API (socrata) from fastCRW Pergamon, capability "Assets with an exact title" (assets-by-name). You know the exact dataset title and want every portal that publishes one by that name. Example options: names=Building Permits, domains=data.cityofchicago.org, only=dataset. Use the crw MCP tools: crw_find_data to confirm the source and its options, then crw_get_data with provider "socrata" and capability "assets-by-name". Tell me the credits used and cite the licence from the response. If the crw MCP tools are missing, install them with: npx -y crw-mcp install --api-key <your fastCRW API key>
Assets by attributed source
Use Socrata Discovery API (socrata) from fastCRW Pergamon, capability "Assets by attributed source" (attribution-assets). You want everything credited to one agency or organisation, including assets republished on other portals. Example options: attribution=City of Chicago, domains=data.cityofchicago.org, q=crime. Use the crw MCP tools: crw_find_data to confirm the source and its options, then crw_get_data with provider "socrata" and capability "attribution-assets". Tell me the credits used and cite the licence from the response. If the crw MCP tools are missing, install them with: npx -y crw-mcp install --api-key <your fastCRW API key>
Title autocomplete
Use Socrata Discovery API (socrata) from fastCRW Pergamon, capability "Title autocomplete" (autocomplete). You are completing a user's half-typed dataset name and want suggestions rather than full records. Example options: q=crime, domains=data.cityofchicago.org, search_context=data.cityofchicago.org. Use the crw MCP tools: crw_find_data to confirm the source and its options, then crw_get_data with provider "socrata" and capability "autocomplete". Tell me the credits used and cite the licence from the response. If the crw MCP tools are missing, install them with: npx -y crw-mcp install --api-key <your fastCRW API key>
