If you have any further questions, we can be reached at epidemiology@countyofnapa.org. \n\n \nHow was the data collected?\nThe survey data was collected from March to May of the 2023-2024 school year, in which all 6 of the Napa Friday Night Live and the Club Live chapter volunteered to participate in the Youth Development Survey. The Youth Development Survey is administered by the California Friday Night Live Partnership, Napa County Health and Human Services Agency - Public Health Division, and the Friday Night Live advisors.\n\nThe Youth Development Survey asked students to respond to statements that measure each of the 5 Friday Night Live Standards of Practices and rate their experiences learning about Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drug prevention in their chapters. \nA total of 81 students from Friday Night Live and Club Live completed the survey. \n\nWho was included and excluded from the data? \nStudents who participated in the Youth Development Survey ranged from 6th grade to 12th grade students enrolled from the Napa Valley Unified School District, Calistoga Unified School District, and Justin Sienna High School. The survey includes 70 survey respondents from 6 Napa Friday Night Live chapters and 11 survey respondents from the Club Live chapter. \n\nThe survey data may not reflect 100% of the participating youth in the Napa Friday Night Live and Club Live since youth can voluntarily skip questions. \n\nWhere was the data collected? \nThe Youth Development Survey data was collected at all 6 school-based Friday Night Live chapters and the Club Live chapter. California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) ranking metric is a tool used to compare similarly sized cities on traffic safety statistics. A smaller the assigned number means that the city is ranked higher, and a higher ranking means the city has worse traffic safety compared to similar locations.\n\nHow was the data collected? Crash data comes from Statewide Traffic Records System (SWITRS). This system collects and processes data gathered from a collision scene. Population estimates come from California Department of Finance (DoF), which are based on changes in births, deaths, domestic migration, and international migration. Estimates are developed using aggregate data from a variety of sources, including birth and death counts provided by the Department of Public Health, driver's license data from the Department of Motor Vehicles, housing unit data from local governments, school enrollment data from the Department of Education, and federal income tax return data from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. Daily Vehicle Miles Traveled (DVMT) come from California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). The Traffic Data Branch at Caltrans estimates the number of vehicle miles that motorists traveled on California State Highways using a sampling of up to 20 traffic monitoring sites and reports on that data.
