GET /v1/data/macrostrat/columns1 credit

Returns the stratigraphic columns mapped near a coordinate, with column id, name, group, area, centroid, project, status and the references behind each column.

GET /v1/data/macrostrat/geologic-map-units1 credit

Returns the mapped geologic units at a coordinate from the combined state and national map sources: unit name, lithology, description, age, map id and source id.

GET /v1/data/macrostrat/paleogeography1 credit

Returns a GeoJSON FeatureCollection of reconstructed continent and ocean polygons for a given age in millions of years before present, from the Wright et al. (2013) plate model served by Macrostrat.

Returns the sections - gap-bound packages of units - near a coordinate, with section id, column id, thickness range, top and bottom age, and the project and references behind them.

GET /v1/data/macrostrat/stats1 credit

Returns per-project counts of columns, packages, units, PBDB fossil collections, measurements and polygons held in the Macrostrat database.

Returns stratigraphic units within a radius of a coordinate: unit id, name, column and section ids, lithology, depositional environment, thickness, top and bottom ages, and the stratigraphic nomenclature attached.

Licence

Macrostrat states its licence in every response envelope ("license": "CC-BY 4.0") and spells it out at /api/v2/meta: "All data are licensed under Creative Commons BY 4.0 International". The same metadata block asks for citation of the platform paper: "Peters, S.E. et al. Macrostrat: a platform for geological data integration and deep-time research. https://macrostrat.org". CC BY 4.0 permits commercial use and redistribution with attribution, so both are recorded true; the attribution text below carries the required credit.
