AusTender OCDS

Public recordsAU

api.tenders.gov.au

Every Australian Government contract notice published on AusTender, in Open Contracting Data Standard form - buyer and supplier names with ABNs, contract value, period, UNSPSC category, procurement method and the full amendment history.

Capabilities (5)

GET /v1/data/austender/amended-between1 credit

Returns one OCDS release per contract notice whose record was last modified between two UTC dates inclusive, 100 per page. Matched on the last-modified timestamp rather than on first publication, so it catches revisions to contracts that were awarded long before the window.

GET /v1/data/austender/contract-notice1 credit

Returns the full OCDS release package for one AusTender contract notice - buyer and supplier parties with ABNs and addresses, award, contract title, description, signed date, value and currency, contract period, UNSPSC item classification and procurement method - plus one extra release for every amendment ever made to that notice.

cn
GET /v1/data/austender/ending-between1 credit

Returns one OCDS release per contract notice, parent or amendment, whose contract period finishes between two UTC dates inclusive, 100 per page - matched on the delivery end date.

GET /v1/data/austender/published-between1 credit

Returns one OCDS release per contract notice published to AusTender between two UTC dates inclusive, 100 per page - supplier, buying agency, contract value, period, UNSPSC category and procurement method for each. Matched on publication date, so amendments published in the window come back alongside brand-new notices.

startDateendDatecursor?prevcursor?lastcursor?
GET /v1/data/austender/starting-between1 credit

Returns one OCDS release per contract notice, parent or amendment, whose contract period begins between two UTC dates inclusive, 100 per page - matched on the delivery start date rather than on when the notice was published.

Licence

AusTender Terms of Use, section 5 COPYRIGHT NOTICE: "5.1 With the exception of the Commonwealth Coat of Arms, Approach to Market (ATM) material and where otherwise noted, all materials on AusTender are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia licence (CC BY 3.0 AU). 5.2 To the extent that copyright subsists in third party materials, where noted, it remains with the original owner and permission may be required to reuse the material." The ATM carve-out in 5.4 ("Approach to Market (ATM) materials are copyright. Users are not permitted to reproduce, re-transmit, distribute or commercialise ATM materials for any purpose without seeking prior written approval from the Commonwealth.") and the related restriction in 5.5 do not reach this API: it serves Contract Notices only - every release returned is tagged "contract" or "contractAmendment" (verified across all five capabilities) and AusTender publishes no ATM endpoint at all. The findByDates responses also state the licence inline as "license": "https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/au/"; findById omits that field, but section 5.1 covers it either way. CC BY 3.0 AU clause 3A grants "a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual (for the duration of the applicable copyright) licence" to "Reproduce the Work; incorporate the Work into one or more Collections; Reproduce the Work as incorporated in any Collection; create and Reproduce one or more Derivative Works; and Distribute and publicly perform the Work". The licence carries no non-commercial restriction - the word "commercial" does not appear anywhere in the CC BY 3.0 AU legal code, and its section 4 Restrictions imposes only the licence-notice and attribution conditions. Therefore commercialUse and redistribution are both true, conditional on the attribution AusTender mandates in section 6.1 (see attributionText).
